What does Splitting of order mean? Does HotWax Commerce manage global splitting or individual order splitting?
Order splitting means splitting an order into multiple shipments or ship groups as we like to say.
Suppose, there is an order with multiple items, and one of them is either back-ordered or pre-order or simply no inventory available. Then, a merchandiser has the ability to configure our system to split the available order items into different ship-groups so the available items can be brokered and delivered to the customer and the remaining items will wait for the inventory.
We manage this configuration at the product store level for all orders coming into the system.
